Sustainability

At Oakfields, we care deeply about the world we’re helping to shape. We know that the small decisions we make every day – what we use, how we learn, what we throw away – all have an impact. That’s why sustainability isn’t something we do on the side. It’s part of who we are as a school.

From the moment our pupils join us, we want them to understand that they have a voice, a responsibility and the power to make a difference. Whether they’re planting bulbs in the garden, switching off classroom lights, or learning about the effects of climate change, our children are encouraged to think about the bigger picture.

We’re not here to tick boxes. We’re here to raise thoughtful, compassionate changemakers. Because looking after our school and looking after our planet go hand in hand.

Planet Oak

This year, we're bringing all our efforts together under a new whole-school initiative: Planet Oak.

Planet Oak is more than a name. It's a way of thinking, learning and living that places sustainability at the heart of school life. It's part of our vision. Building on everything we've achieved together and setting our sights on something even better.

Together, we are Planet Oak. A community of changemakers, working for a healthier Oakfields and a thriving Earth.

From the tiniest hands in Kindergarten to our oldest pupils in Year 6 - and of course, the staff and families who support them - everyone will play a part.

We'll learn together. Take action together. And celebrate the small steps that lead to big change.
