Community

Oakfields has a strong sense of community and parents and visitors often comment on the friendly and personal atmosphere in the school.

The success of our school depends on the unique partnership between staff, children and parents. As a small school, all the children and staff get to know each other quickly on a personal level, creating a real sense of family and community, where every individual is accepted as equal and valued.

We encourage our pupils to play a positive role in contributing to the life of the school and the wider community and, as a school, we actively seek links with the local community. Recent examples include participation in Tate Modern Museum’s “Steve McQueen Year 3” exhibition, sponsoring and decorating a Christmas tree for Upminster’s Christmas Tree Festival and decorating a window with a nativity mural for Romford’s ‘Nativity’ in The Brewery hosted by Romford Elim Church.
